USB writing problem with external drive (ext3)

hallo
i have SUSE 11 and Linux mint on my laptop.
i aslo own a 1TB external drive which is formated on ext3
i use this HD for quite some time i had no problem with slackware when i backed up my files.
now i want to copy some more files on the external HD.
i have no problem reading the contents inside the external HD.
but when i try to copy on the External HD the system changes it to read-only or even umount it....
here some tests:

Probably something wrong with either the hard drive or the filesystem. Running
Code:

# fsck.ext3 /dev/sdb1
does not perform the fsck if the filesystem is marked clean. You will need to run
Code:

# fsck.ext3 -f /dev/sdb1

still nothing happend
all cleared...
