USB Wireless stick recommendations

Hey All,

New to the forum... and I wanted to get some recommendations for a USB wireless adapter (stick form) that's compatible with Linux and WPA support. 802.11g is preferable but I can work with the b version.

Am I asking too much? I've looked around but haven't had much luck.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to LQ!

Have you check the LQ Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)

Thanks.. but there's soooo many listed and not all are usb. Is there an easier way to find the USB models?

Is there anyone that actually have used or are using one with success?

I'm using a sweex LC100060 802.11g usb card with slackware 10...works fine, though I needed to add two lines to my rc.local file to get it to load automatically at start up. No big deal. The chipset is a Ralink 2570 (though it says 2500, but the radio controller is 2570) and I'm using the open-source driver from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/ (the 2570 driver, not the 2x00 or other drivers). Hope that helps.

That card might not be, but there are other cards using the same chipset:

one of those might be available in the US.
