USB Wireless

I am trying to get my new USB wireless thing to work. I got it because it it works with Linux apparently. Here is the link to the one i got: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16833130115

Apparently I need the zd1211 chipset but I dont know how to go about getting that. I am running Fedora Core 5. I tried using the source forge driver (http://sourceforge.net/projects/zd1211/), but that didnt work.

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

First check the output of lsusb after connecting the device. Does it show something about Zydas or zd1211?

Then, from the sourceforge page, did you follow the links to this page to get the most recent version?

Check here:

http://zd1211.ath.cx/

Match the oace:1215 output from lsusb with the chart, then follow the triple-asterisk mark. It says you need to make a small edit to the driver's Makefile to enable 1211B.

Hope this helps.

In the directory where you extracted the driver source (not your linux kernel source), there is a file called Makefile. Open it in a text editor and, about 20 lines down from the top, there is a line that reads ZD1211REV_B=0. Change the 0 to 1 and save. And if you're using a 2.4.x kernel change the KERN_26=y to n.
