usb wifi adapters supported

I need to buy a usb wifi adapter for my laptop. Before I buy one, I wanted to make sure that it is supported. I also want to spend the least amount of money possible. I know that you can sometimes get off brand ones for really cheap, but I don't think they are usually supported. Does anyone know of a good one that will work out of the box with no problems?

I have three usb wireless devices. Two have the Ralink rt2500usb chipsets and the other has the rt73usb chipset.

Both rt2500usb devices are well supported by linux. They are incorporated into external antennas for long range use. In older kernels wpa will not work with linux drivers(ndiswrapper worked well). In kernels 2.6.27 and up wpa works well out-of-box.

The rt73 device is also well supported by linux but I cannot comment on wpa as I only connect to open networks while travelling.

I found all three on Ebay.

Locating good working USB Wireless devices isn't the easiest thing in the world, kudos on the devices you located, I know a lot of the wireless USB devices just plain don't work in Linux.

Any chance you could share the manufacturer, Model and rev. number of those devices you located to save the OP some time in his search ?

Thanks !!

I'm not sure what the rules are about links to business and such. He can search ebay.ca or ebay.com for "wifi antenna". I have the SuperUSB-A10 and SuperUSB-A19.

I do not see the usb dongle model I have for sale anymore.
