usb type c no longer working but is seen?
this is like new levono 330s 15aar laptop AMD the usb type c plug was working no issues windows and every linux distro I've used on this then just the other day I needed to use that crap plug - get adapter - plug it in and notice it no longer sees what is plugged into it. I checked that adapter in a different laptop that has crap type c connector and it works. dmegs looks to see that plug too, windows also. it is just no longer being active?
it too looks like lsusb sees a 2.0 when I should not have a 2.0 - 2 usb 3.0 and 1 c type 3.1

I see 3.0 information in the lsusb and the log you've highlighted.
Perhaps there's no driver for whatever it is you plug in.
Are these logs showing when you plug in your device? Last I see is a USB mouse.

whenever I plugged something and check dmesg nothing shows up. what driver might that be, as It was working after a install of Linux or windows. and it is hard soldered to the board so no loose wires.
it is plug in a standard usb stick into that adapter into the c type and now nothing.
looking at what I posed again I seen this, for whatever that's worth.
Code:
[ 10.488009] udevd[836]: failed to execute '/lib/udev/automount' 'automount': Permission denied
I highlighted it.

that is with everything unplugged.

don't even know what the divers is called -- not to mention this in on three different OS'es. two seperate linux, and windows 10 ... not logical for it to be a driver.
aawwwwwww I do not even think the BIOS sees it.. I tried using it to boot a (working) usb stick, nuttin', something is F'd up. chalk it up to a crap Levono laptop.

That one failed record at timestamp 10.488009 doesn't mean it is directly related to the activity on usb 1-2.
There are further progress logs related to usb 1-2 where it continues to install a WLAN driver.
Since the complaint is that udevd couldn't mount something, then it may have tried to create a link for the device in the dev tree and had a problem.
Therefore the question is whether or not your WLAN adapter is working, and also if it shows in your dev tree.
Based on your most recent post, seems that this is not solved, but no longer of concern.
Sorry to hear you have such a low opinion of certain hardware, and certain interface connection types.

laymans option...
from it was working just fine, now it just stopped without me doing anything different ... then the fact it is 3 separate os's have the same issue. I'd expect at least windows 10 seeing it, it is only showing two usb's and the c type too is failing to be seen and working.
let me yank that USB WIFI dongle out, reboot and see if the c type will just work before putting the wifi dongle in.

let me go into bhodi and try a lower version kernel -- it is easier to change them in that distro.

So, for whatever it's worth:
I'm not surprised that Windows sees nothing. The OS does work to make sure you don't see things it cannot resolve with some form of reason. This means that it cannot even classify the device.
You've said that this device does happen to work fine on another computer.
At least three OS'es see problems with it.
The most verbose it seems is the most recent, Bohdi.
It gives a lengthy number for it, wlx3894edbd5e5d. I did some quick searching with substrings of that, like wlx3894, etc and it found different language sites, as well as some bunch of multi-usb charging plugs. So, the string didn't help much.
I guess I'd see if there are any updated drivers for it, if you can discern what model and manufacturer it is, or determine what network chip it happens to be using.
Or instead, use it on machines which it works on and see if you can find an alternative that you can use on this Lenovo system.
Best luck and experimentations.

not logical not logical.. you're mistaken it the plug not the whatever that is plugged into it. Once it worked with the operating systems I have installed on this laptop. Now it is being seen as non automount / no support for it. new driver? the advancement of drivers (versions) are not suppose to make the device fail. updating one OS causes all three OSes to fail in seeing the hardware soldered onto the motherboard.
don't buy it. it is a hardware issue or BIOS issue where in some kind of embedded issue on the board .. one Operating system all of a sudden not seeing a piece of working hardware due to some update therefor causing it to not work.Okay,
But all three at the same time on the same day. they do not even use the same drivers per se` Windows and Linux are two completely different beast.
it is something from the Motherboard and not some 3rd party software to support it.
thanks for looking...
attached : today's crazy system log.. if you want to take a peak at it as I will be going though it too, there is all kinds of to me crazy bat sh*t happening within it.
I think there is more going on with this CPU MoBo and HDDs and stuff ... only 256K of it
