USB to SATA adaptor USB Id 0b39:0001 driver needed

I just bought a Sabrent USB 2.0 to SATA Hard Drive Adapter.
It appears to work with Windows 7 (the drive tested is ext2 so Win7 wanted to format it), but when plugged into Mint 12 lsusb does not show it.

What's happening here?

Thanks,
Jim

Are you sure about the Id?

Here :
Code:
bash-4.1$ grep -A 1 "^0b39" /usr/share/usb.ids
0b39 Omnidirectional Control Technology, Inc.
        0001 Composite USB PS2 Converter
bash-4.1$
So either the database is wrong or your Id is wrong.

PS Furthermore, if it is the SATA-C35U it is said on the website as well as on the user manual that no specific driver is needed so the kernel should see it as an USB mass storage, IOW as an USB hard disk. What says "dmesg | tail" 15 seconds after you plug it in?
