I was given a 32Mb thumb drive to experiment with. I do not know the specs of this device unfortunately.
I use Debian-Unstable and Ubuntu Hoary. In both distro's after pulgging in and then entering the command
I recieve the error
Code:
ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: port 6 reset error -110
hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32)
ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: port 6 reset error -110
hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32)
ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: port 6 reset error -110
hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32)
hub 4-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 6. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: port 6 reset error -110
hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32)
ehci_hcd 0000:00:1d.7: port 6 reset error -110
hub 4-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err = -32)
I have searched the various error strings but with no results.
I use an AOpen AX4PE Max motherboard which contains 4 usb ports at rear and an extra two that can plug into the front of my tower. I use a custom 2.6.10 kernel with Debian which I know contains all the modules needed for hotplugging and USB support, and a generic 2.6.10-5-686 with Ubuntu.
I have tested the device on a my wifes XP work laptop, and can verify it works. I am unsure of the format eg Fat32, NTFS etc....
I am a little stumped here as I am unsure of even where to start. Your help would be appreciated. Please let me know if I have left out any info you require.
Cheers
