Question USB Soundcard suitable for Mandrahe 9.1

Hi

I have a Multimedia station running Mandrake 9.1

It is connected to a stereo and television and works fine for both video playback and audio.

But I would like to improve audio quality (mainly background noise etc).

I am thinking of going to a USB soundcard

Any body have any experience good or bad of this solution.

There's usb sound support in the kernel, offhand I think you would be better off with a normal PCI card, something soundblaster audigy based, the digital out is working in the newest drivers... but here's probably the best link for usb:
