Everything in my laptop works fine, the onboard sound works fine other then the sound qaulity ( i like crystal clear sound).
I have just bought a Hercules MUSE pocket which is connected by USB, how do i install this new device? Do i simply plug it in? All my other hardware was detected when i installed SuSE, do i need to reinstall SuSE so that my hardware is detected?
I have teied pluggin it in the turning the laptop on, it didnt work, i tried pluggin it in when SuSE had loaded but nothing happened. As you can prob guess im pretty new to linux.
In my system tray there is a little icon that looks like a pci card (SuSE Hardware Tool). When i double click it a program called suseplugger opens, from here i can see a device listed under "unknown" called "usb audio", so i guess thats it. How do i configure it to work?
In M$ windows i could simply plug it in and it would detect and install, how do i install it under Linux? Is there a tool that finds new hardware and configures it?
You still owe me a copy of Microsoft Windows 2003 Server - Enterprise Edition (25 CAL). You have chosen to ignore all my e-mails, either send me the software as promised or return the money which I have sent to you.
I have sent you a notice of intent by e-mail on 04/03/05, should you not contact me within seven working days, I will be forced to alert the Fraud Section of Gwent Police to resolve this matter.

jack7738 -- I'm not sure what this issue is in reference to, considering that it doesn't seem to be related in any way to the original question about configuring a sound card, but in any event, private disputes need to be handled between you and the other party, not here in the LQ forums. You will need to resolve this off-line. -- J.W.
My apology for posting this here. Unfortunately Matt Phillips has left me no choice, these boards are one of the few avenues open for me to contact Mr. Phillips.
I have repeatedly e-mailed him, without reply.
I am disabled, and so have thrown myself into computing as both a hobby and hopefully a way back to employment. I have recently built a server and only needed the software to complete my work; so when Matt Phillips offered Microsoft Windows 2003 Server - Enterprise Edition (25 CAL) at an excellent price of £200.00 + £6.95 postage, I said yes. So after e-mail dialogue, I sent him the money by cheque to his home address. Subsequently the money was cashed on 16th February 2005.
Sadly this man has chosen to cheat me out of a considerable amount of money which I have sent to him for software; both Matt Phillips and the software he advertised for sale have mysteriously dissapeared.
So, apart from the obvious warning about buying anything from him, please be careful buying from the internet.
If anyone has any information about Matt Phillips, please leave a message on these boards.
Its a great shame when genuine, honest, hard-working computer enthusiasts are ripped off by con artists who use the net as a tool to steal.
So tommorrow morning I have to spend my valuable time contacting the Fraud Section of Gwent Police (Newport).

Jack,
While it's unfortunate that you feel someone has cheated you, LQ should not be seen as an open avenue for personal issues. You need to take this offline (and off LQ). Thanks.
what the hell???? i have only just checked this thread, the guy is a tit. I havnt a clue what he is on about, i dont even own Microsoft server edition, hell the only version of microsoft that i own is Win98SE. I hope you do contact the police, then we can get this matter resolved, especially the harressmant you have been giving me. I havn't a clue what you are on a bout mate.
Hell, i have only advertised one item on eBay and that was a long time ago.
If you want to get this matter resolved i suggest you goto the police and get them to nock on my door, then i cant get your address then we can sort things out.
Closed -- LQ is simply not the appropriate place to argue about personal disputes. As jeremy has clearly stated, this issue needs to be handled offline, and outside of LQ. If there are any questions regarding this, feel free to contact me, another other Moderator, or the site admin. -- J.W.
