USB Scanner Genius ColorPage-HR7X Slim problem

Hi.

I have this scanner at work and I have to switch to Windows to be able to scan something, because it does not work in my Debian based distribution, Sidux. The scanner is seen by lsusb as "Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0458:2018 KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)"

Can someone tell me what can I do to make it work?

Unfortunately, probably nothing. It appears to be based on an unsupported chipset (see the links in my sig). Just because the system can detect the device doesn't mean it can use it. You need a driver for that.

Unsupported hardware is common in some areas, and scanners are one of them. It often depends on how much data the hardware manufacturers are willing to disclose. As a general rule, never buy any hardware without double-checking that it's supported first.
