USB Scanner

Hello,

I have a Logitech Scanner. It is a PageScan USB build by logitech.
Suse 8.2 and SANE are installed but there is no driver for this scanner. I didn't find one in the net as well

The Scanner is not even recognized. USB works with a Memory stick . So I can say I think it is not the USB port.

Who knows a driver or a wokaround that will work?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

If you eventually get the scanner working, you can use Nuescan (free!). Nice software. Worked with my scanner except when the comp. was restarted, the bmp module in Xserver was missing. Probally was just that the scanner was so old.

You may try to find some experimental drivers from Sane. I am using alpha drivers for my HP 3400C and they work fine from console. Totally stable, but no GUI. Just test before you buy a new one unless you can change without costs. Scanners are a little problem in Linux , not all of them works. Check carefully before you buy.

Hi Newsgroup,

Thank you for the replys I will buy an other scanner which works with Linux. I will buy it used at eBay. It is easier than getting the one I have to work.

Thanks

With best regards!
