USB ports switching off on login (not startup)
Hello.
I'm running Manjaro with 2 accounts : my main one ("Laurent") dating from more than 10 years ago when I had OpenSUSE (then Mint), and another one ("Game") which I created more recently ; I don't remember if I re-created it when I installed Manjaro.
The problem I have is, each time I log in as "Game" and switch off, when switch back on and log in as "Laurent" (or even "Game"), some USB ports on the rear of my computer switch off. The front ones stay on.
They are on when I turn the PC on (I have a gamepad whose LEDs blink), but when I log in the gamepad stops blinking.
I need to switch the PC completely off, then on and log back in as "Laurent" ; rebooting doesn't help.
This is highly annoying because I also have my network dongle on these USB ports. So no network, I need to switch off and on.
Could you please tell me where I can start with to solve this issue ?
I can post some portions of the system log when the problem occurs, if it helps.
Hardware details :
Motherboard ASRock A320M-DGS (flashed by the shop to receive a Ryzen 5 2600)
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Devices connected to the rear USB ports :
- USB network dongle TP-Link TL-WN823N, using the 8192eu-dkms module from AUR
- gamepad Microsoft XBox360, wired, kernel module disabled
- webcam Logitech C525
Many thanks in advance !

I would rename /home/Game to /home/old_Game delete the user game, and add a fresh user game(userdel & useradd). Put thought into adding him, particularly making sure he is in useful groups. With 'usermod', you can make his UID & GID identical to the old user, and then move back the saved games, etc from your backup. Then try.
Your name should not carry over a reboot. It's a sign of something refusing to close. Everything is killed in a reboot, and you get a soft reset.
It also might be worth starting as Game, log in with Laurent, and then try killing everything you can find owned/run by Game. will give you every process started by game, and you can kill them. If one won't die, get suspicious, but respawning as Laurent is ok.

Hi Kid !
Thanks for your help.
I could solve the issue (so far), and it was due to a software.
I tried what you suggested (after creating the password with passwd), but with no luck.
In fact, sometimes the first and second logins went fine, but the 3rd failed.
But I finally understood what happened, thanks to your notice about "something refusing to close".
The "something" was Yakuake, the drop-down command line that Manjaro installed by default.
My account "Laurent" is older than Manjaro, so it had no clue about Yakuake. But all the new accounts were set with Yakuake starting on login, and it's when it starts that the rear USB ports switch off.
Weird.
Anyway, I uninstalled Yakuake 5 days ago, and I don't have any switch-off problem anymore.
Thanks again, and have a nice day !
