USB port problems

I have two USB ports on my system (A7N8X Dlx/Mandrake 9.1) that refuses to recognize anything that I stick on it. Anyone else having this problem and/or know a solution?

same problem
no solution
i am in the process of installing the nforce rpm from nvidia
i hope this fixes it
