USB MP3 Portable Player

Hi,

I have a MPMan F50 portable MP3 player.

It's connected to the PC via USB port. And whenever I plug it... I get nothing at all...

Is there a way to have that device recognized by the system?? Thanks a lot.

What OS/Distro? If it is like other USB mass storage devices it may just be a matter of mounting it properly.

I'm running a Linux Mandrake 9.1.

I also use a Canon digital camera, but that one was automatically mounted and I can use it without any problem. But the player seems totally unrecongnized by the system...?

The hardware detection on boot doesn't find it. I would check in the information screens for a scuzzy emulated device such as scd0 or something to that effect. Also have you run a google/linux to see if it is compatible w/ Linux?
