USB MP3 player not working - HELP

I'm trying to make the AMAX PA-11 MP3 player work under Linux. Essentially the player has 64 Mb of internal memory and one slot for one extra SmartMedia card. The configuration under Linux should be no different of any other USB storage device but... it doesn't work. The /var/log/messages when I hotplug the toy are:

kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 2
kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x66f/0x3400) is not claimed by any active driver.
/etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product 66f/3400/3

My distro is Red Hat 8.0 with the hotplug package installed.

Please help ! .... thanks in advance.

You could try adding the vendor id etc to the unusual_devs.h section of the kernel.

I just read in google groups (after your answer of course!) that this unit is "absolutely not usable" under Linux.....

Actually I have the choice to replace the player and I will do it. End of the story.

Thanks to acid2000 anyway.
