usb mouse on proliant 1600 - driver not loaded

hi all!

since days i struggle with fedora 1 (and suse 9.0, and redhat 9.0) to install on a compaq proliant - nearly everything works fine -

except the mouse. as the mouse is not recognized at all and i cannot diagnose my bios :-((( i installed a pci-usb-card, where i connected ps/2 - > usb converter. this device is recognized.

But now. there is a mouse connected, which just runs strange (just from the middle to the right, upper side if i move).

I already tried booting with the option pci-biosirq which caused the mentionned effect...but better as before...where the mouse din't work at all.

usb-uhci.c: $Revision: 1.275 $ time 15:50:32 Oct 29 2003
usb-uhci.c: High bandwidth mode enabled
PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin D of device 00:14.2.
usb-uhci.c: found UHCI device with no IRQ assigned. check BIOS settings!
usb-uhci.c: v1.275:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver

this is a short cut of my dmesg from usb. you can see, that there is an irq-problem.

i will try something like booting with noapic or pci-noacpi or acpi=off...i hope somebody else has a better idea that really helps me...

Cheers,
Roger

using a mouse with Suse Linux 9.0

I am not sure if you really "want" a USB mouse, or are trying to find some way to get a mouse running on a proliant 1600. If it is t he latter, then I found a solution that works for me with a Proliant 1600 and an 1850R...
