USB Mouse disconnects shortly after startup.

I have a new laptop.

Mandrake 10, used a couple USB logitech mice.

Upon booting with the mouse attached, the mouse will work for a couple minutes, and then simply stop. I haven't done anything to install the mouse, just attached it. The touchpad also doesn't work on startup, but if I disable/enable it, it works. The working of the touchpad seems entirely indepenendant of the working of the mouse.

When the mouse ceases to work, there is a syslog entry something like the following:

kernel: input: PS/2 Generic Mouse on isaXXXX/serioX

Thanks

I'm afraid I can't help you. But I'm trying to fix a problem of my own regarding touchpad tapping not working. Therefore it would be nice if you could tell me how to disable and enable the touchpad.
