Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Unhappy USB Mouse Craziness

i recently bought a Desknote (interesting mesh of laptop and desktop, i like to refer to it as an "el camino") and it came with a copy of ThizLinux (a redhat variant). i installed it as a second operating system, but it dont use it at all because only the touchpad works... when plugged in, and powered up, the usb mouse (ms optical wheelmouse) works only for a few seconds.... it seems that when i make a quick motion with the pointer, it freezes. happens evey time. usually if i do not touch the mouse it will continue to wait for my input and be at the ready, so to speak, but as soon as i start moving it around a bit.. it freezes... not the system.. just the mouse. very annoying.
i cannot find ANY information on this, and have tried several different mouse setups in the xf86config-4 file.. no dice..

anyone know what might be going on? much appreciated as i would rather not use the touchpad.

I really have no idea what's going on with your mouse, but I use a Logitech optical USB mouse with my desknote. It has worked fine with Redhat 7.3, 8.0, and now 9.0
