usb mouse & ps2 keyboard alternate not working

Hi,

I have an issue on my Mint 18.3 XFCE. UBS wired mouse doesn't work or, after booting, works for some seconds, then not. Re-plugging is almost always useless. Other mouse don't work either.
USB wireless mini keybord with touchpad works.
sometimes also ps2 keyboard is ko

thanks

6901:1224 is not in the USB database which is why there is nothing else in the output for that line and why whatever is plugged in is not recognized by the OS. Is this the wired mouse? If so it might be broken and could be the same for the other mouse without more information.

thanks. Mouses are not defective because they are working, if connected to a notebook.
There is also issue od PS2 keyboard that sometimes is not operated
I remember command ls usb. This aside, I am linux newbie since 15 years. I don't know which test should I do
