I installed RH 9 last night and was dsappointed that it didn't automatically set up my modem for me.

I vaguely remembering a hassle free installation of my USB modem when I used RH 7.1 a while ago.

I'm a complete n00b and have no idea how to configure my modem and the guides and HOWTOs I've read only refer to internal, PCMCIA and external serial modems...nothing about USB modems

I've played around with KPPP but it keeps saying either "device is busy" or "unable to open port" and things like that on all the device ports.

I know my modem works with Linux, its worked before...

Any help?

Chances are that I won't be of much help, but you can see if linux knows about your USB devices by viewing /proc/bus/usb/devices.

What is the brand of the modem?

Its a Dynalink V90 POcket Modem using Conexant drivers
