USB modem and linux

recently i bought a Aztech 56K USB modem the drivers that comes with the modem doesnt work and when i use kppp and try to connect it doesnt even cant figure out there is a usb modem ther what is the problem

im using red hat linux 9 and a dial up connection

What did you do with the modem drivers? I just downloaded both the 9100 and the 9800 zip files from (both files are identical, by the way) and it seems quite straight forward. What bit went wrong?
