USB malfunction

Hello, my usb hub are not working. Yesterday when I turn on my computer I noticed It was very slow and when finally loaded the SO (Ubuntu 12.04) the USB ports were not working. Although after a while they started to work I'm afraid there is something wrong with the USB driver or the BIOS.

I tried to change every option in the BIOS but the problem is unsolved. There is an error in the dmesg that repeats for every usb port:

"[ 32.948092] usb 2-2: device descriptor read/64, error -110"

Can anyone give me some advice?

If you get this errors usually there is a hardware problem. Remove all your USB devices and try them one after the other unless you find the culprit.

Thanks for your help, but the problem has just been solved itself! I don't know how. The problem had to be in the BIOS because it caused all USB devices malfunction at the very start of the computer (before the POST message).

As the problem is solved "magically" I'll do nothing this time, but I think next time will be better if I update the firmware of the motherboard.

Thanks
