usb keyboard just stops working

Im running FC3 on an Athlon 2600+ on an Asus A7N8X motherboard, with 1 gig of ram.

The system boots up and works fine. But every now and then, the USB keyboard, and sometimes the mouse also, just stops working. Rebooting seems to cure the problem for a while, but then it pops up again after a while. I even disabled USB2.0 in my bios to see if it helps, but that did not entirely fixed it.

And just to let you know, the keyboard and mouse work perfectly fine in windows XP.

Any ideas what the problem could be? Any quick fixes besides getting a new mouse and keyboard?

Thanks

Try to rmmod then modprobe the incriminated module. rmmod -f will force unloading. lsmod to see which modules are loaded. All this as root.
