USB keyboard & mouse stop working intermittently on Linux Mint 12 boot

Hey guys,

Been trying to get Mint 12 up and running on my desktop, but I am having an issue that's driving me crazy. Basically my USB keyboard and mouse turn off immediately before I get to the login screen, but it is intermittent.

Sometimes when it occurs I can reboot and it will be fine, other times (like now) I can reboot all I want and the problem will not stop occurring.

I've searched all over and can't even find anyone with a similar problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some hardware information:

Dell keyboard
logitech g500 mouse
msi p67a-gd53 mobo w/i5-2500k

I've tried swapping keyboards and mice around also and it doesn't help.

Hey everyone, figured I would answer my own question. I eventually figured out my problems were due to my keyboard being plugged into the USB3 connector on my PC.
