USB IR receivers supporting power on/off via mb power header

For an htpc which doesn't need to be on 24/7 (at most acts as a front end), it has become more logical to me to explore IR receiver options that facilitate remote powering capabilities beyond that of USB resume on suspend. Simply put, a true power on via remote when the htpc is shutdown.

So far this is the best solution I can find:

I like the concept of connecting to motherboard power header. This should be a viable option on motherboards that have USB power while shutdown aka "Wake on USB" support. Anyone implementing this? Any feedback?

Anything to add about other comparable solutions?
