usb hubs and external hard drives

has anyone gotten a usb hub to work?

also i am looking for a external hd and found one with this descibtion "200GB USB 2.0 External Portable Hard Drive: 200GB EIDE ULTRA-ATA/100 with UE720 Enclosure, Cooling Fan and Anti-Shock Design" for $150. all other ones i have looked at cost at least $250. this seems to good to be true. is it? whats the difference between this and a maxtor or western digital of the same size?

I don't use USB hubs so I can't comment on that, but I'd agree with you regarding the price. Most likely, if computer equipment is being offered for only 60% of the going rate from other competitors, it may be "refurbished" rather than "new". I'd say stick with a reputable dealer (such as NewEgg) and trust your instincts. -- J.W.
