USB-Hub 2x

Hi,

I have a problem with USB Hubs. I don't know if it's linux or hardware related and would appreciate some help. The problem is following:

I have an HP nx9020 laptop and it has only 2 USB ports (which is definately not enough), so I got 2 USB Hubs. The problem is that I have a D-Link hub, which works all the time no matter what and an MSI hub, which works only when D-Link is not plugged in. I have a USB mouse and when D-Link is plugged in and I plug in the second Hub the mouse flashes for a second and then dies (it doesn't even light up). Both hubs on the other hand report that they are working (with an indicator). Did anyone face this problem?

Regards

usb only draws sooo much watts.. you maybe pushing it tooo far.

have you tried a differnt route... where your not taxing one usb system tooo much.

good luck.

Thanks for your reply. I also think it could be the problem, however the hubs are self-powered, so they have their own power supply and don't take any power from the system itself.
I have windows on the same machine too and it also doesn't work with 2 hubs at the same time, but when I cascade the hubs I see that they draw 0 mA from the root hub, so I am really confused why is this happening.
