USB Host-To-Host Cable: Which One?

Hello,

What brands of USB host-to-host cables are compatible with Linux? I bought one some time ago and it didn't work. In other words, what has worked for you? Thanks.

I found this: http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache...nk&cd=19&gl=us, but i only found the Belkin, which is expensive. . . the rest are chips. What i need to know are the names of the cables that use the chips.

Like i said before i bought one of these back in January but i couldn't make it work: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=522556. Thanks.

Re-compile the kernel with all usb net modules even the experimental modules.

If the computers have a NIC, just use a crossover cable and set each of them with their own static IP address. Then setup SAMBA on one system or use OpenSSH to transfer the files. USB is sloppy because it uses too much software to handle the input and output of the device being used.

BTW, dmesg does not show everything, so I suggest reading through /var/log/messages.
