Sorry to post ANOTHER usb memory card stick question ...
I have a TOPBAND 256 mg usb Flash memory pen/stick running RedHat 8. I know the system can see it but I cannot figure out how to access it ... please can someone advise me further.
The usb pen was sold as Linux Compatable (yes my kernal version supports it).
Heres lots of config stuff...
I have a USB Controller installed
running cat /proc/pci | grep -i usb returns:-
USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 1).
my modules.conf file also contains:-
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
alias ieee1394-controller ohci1394
running mount yields (amongst other things):-
usbdevfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbdevfs (rw)
I tried running DMESG and it said it had initialised the USB mass storage driver, registered usb.c, and also that a new USB device was connected on bus1/2, assigned device number 3.
I have HotPlug installed too.
I know the system can see the USB pen and i'm fairly sure its happy with it. I just cannot figure out what steps I need to take in order to be able to mount the drive in the usual fashion --- Any Ideas ... its driving me nuts.
