USB/FIREWIRE Hard Disks on SUSE 9.2
Hello everybody!
This is my first post, so I hope I do it right!! I am running Suse 9.2 on my desktop. Everything works fine, but I am having problems with my External HD. They are two IOMEGA HHD250 (dual USB2.0/FW) and a LACIE BIGDISK 500GB (Triple connection). I can only access the Iomega via USB. When I connect the drive via FW, the system just ignores it. Sometime the drives hang, and they freeze the system (when I am renaming files or working on files on the external HD). While on the other hand I can only connect the Lacie via FW (!), connecting via USB does not do anything... I also noticed that whenever I launch YAST and the HD are connected, loading of the specific menus (ie Partitioning, Managing Disks) are extremely slow: Yast launches regularly, but then when I try to access the submenus, it takes sometime 10 MINUTES to load them! I am using a Conceptronic adapter with 2 Firewire Ports and 3 USB 2.0 ports. Please let me know how to solve this....... Kind regards, Trizio |
