USB ethernet adapter failing

I got "USB FAST ETHERNET ADAPTER" and have a problem with it. Sometimes this error message starts, and are printet 2 times per second:

NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
rtl8150.c eth0: Tx timeout.

And i have to restart the computer to make the adapter work again.

lsusb returns:

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:8150 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8150 Fast Ethernet Adapter
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

PS: it happens much mor fequently if it get much to do. Example: If i just use IRC it can go days withaut problems, if i start bittorrent osomething lake that it rarely goes more than 30 sec. before i crash.

PPS: I use Debian, and it runs on an old laptop (Toshiba 300 CDS), uses kernel 2.4.7

EDIT: extra info
