USB Disk Image Mount Error

Dell Inspiron 7000 Manjaro 17.1.7 Budgie 10.4

I am encountering the error message below with some but not all USBs:

Transcend 8GB - text and photo files - loads and displays in file manager with no problems

Scandisk 16GB - photo files only - error message

Lexar 8GB (two of them) - linux iso files - error message

All four USBs load and display correctly on another computer. Clues?

It could be the reader.
Or the OS.

How are you mounting those disk images?
Does
Code:
mount -o loop usbimage.iso /mounting/point
Mount them ok? If not post the error that you are getting.

Edit: Android little obnoxious keys

Thanks for the responses. There were a couple of other issues that I didn't post here and in the end I decided that it would be easier on me and you if I just did a fresh install of the O/S.

Lesson learned - inexperienced tinkering can lead to problems

Just a handy hint that if you make fairly regular backups/images/snapshots of your system, then you can avoid a fresh install by rolling back to a previous backup/image/snapshot. That way you can tinker to your heart's content.
