[SOLVED] USB Device Connection Problem

I am trying to use my USB drive in Fedora workstation. When I connect it with the USB port of my laptop I notice that the device is connected.When I click the file system to access the drive I got below message :

Error mounting /dev/sdc2 at /run/media/root/New Volume
Unknown filesystem type 'exfat'

When I try to run the fdisk command I got below message :

Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.30.2).
Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.

Whats the solution ?

The solution is to install fuse-exfat which is available in the rpm fusion repository.

To add the repository follow the instructions here:
https://rpmfusion.org/Configuration

sudo dnf install https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm

Then install fuse-exfat

sudo dnf install fuse-exfat

Thanks for your solution. Actually what I did is I just format the entire disk and create a new single partition by following below steps :

1.Plug the USB drive to the port

2.type fdisk -l /dev/sd and tab twice . you will see a list of connected devices

in this case it will be /dev/sdc

3.Use the fdisk command to create partition :

fdisk /dev/sdc

4.type p to view all partitions

5.type d to delete all partitions

6.type n to create a new partition

7.Choose p for primary partition or e for extended partition. in this case p

8.Press enter and again enter

9.To make the changes type w

10.run the partprobe /dev/sdc command
