Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

USB CD & Redhat 8

I have a usb cd I use on my laptop running redhat 8.0 - I have the cd working fairly well however when I right click on the desktop icon and choose "Eject" it doesn't work. The cd is set to /dev/scd0, I can mount & unmount from the same menu just fine.

Any thoughts?

If you open up an xterm, Konsole or whatever gives you a commandline prompt, then type "eject", what does it say?
