USB camera kills wifi.

My distro is Ubuntu 10.04 AMD X64, uname -r result is '2.6.32-25-generic'
lsusb result:

Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0bda:8197 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187B Wireless Adapter
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

My webcam is a Logitech C250. 1.5 volt USB webcam.
My problem is this, every time I plug the webcam in, my wifi (internal USB) quits. Wifi Manager and WICD both say "wireless network disabled"
I suspect that the USB camera is using more power than the kernel will allow. Does anyone know how to turn the power up on the USB hub without damaging anything?

I have similar problem, usb bus seem to have insufficient power for all devices. There are however many usb hubs that can be powered with power cable.

Try also changin power options on iwconfig and please replay if it help.

I went with
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 txpower 15
It didn't help. Sorry. thanx for trying.
I may just try a powered USB hub.

Solved!!! I bought a cheap ac Powered USB 4 way hub. The camera does now work while not killing my built USB wifi. In fact I can run other appliances on there as well such as a USB desklamp.
