usb.c: couldn't get all of config descriptors (RH9+kernel 2.4.25)
I'm trying to get my Palm Tungsten T3 to sync via USB. I've found solutions for several
problems, but they are above the problem I am currently having.
When I push the "sync" button, /var/log/messages shows....
Mar 8 13:52:37 localhost kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.7-6.1, assigned address 3
Mar 8 13:52:37 localhost kernel: usb.c: couldn't get all of config descriptors
Mar 8 13:52:37 localhost kernel: usb.c: unable to get device 3 configuration (error=-32)
Mar 8 13:52:37 localhost kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.7-6.1, assigned address 4
Mar 8 13:52:37 localhost kernel: usb.c: couldn't get all of config descriptors
Mar 8 13:52:37 localhost kernel: usb.c: unable to get device 4 configuration (error=-32)
...and consecutive attempts cause the address number to increase.
The usbserial and visor modules are loaded.
% lsmod
Module Size Used by Not tainted
visor 13416 0 (unused)
usb-storage 130928 0
usbserial 20668 0 (autoclean) [visor]
The only information I have found on this problem says that the device doesn't follow
the USB standard. I have a hard time beliveing the Palm Tungsten T3 doesn't follow
the standard.
Anyone have an ideas?
Thank you,
