USB Blocking PC on transfer

Hello,

I'm using a cruzer mini from Sandisk @ 1 GB.

Whenever copying to it, I notice that data is copied to the RAM, then to the flash disk. When it starts copying to the flash disk, sometimes it freezes my PC until everything is done!

I'm using Slackware 10.2/current
Kernel 2.4.31

This is "lsusb" output ::
Code:
Bus 002 Device 013: ID 0781:5150 SanDisk Corp. SDCZ2 Cruzer Mini Flash Drive (thin)
How can I avoid having the USB blocking my PC on transfer?!

Thank you in advance

What's your hardware profile? If you are running an older computer with limited resources, then maybe not much. If you are running a newer system, then alter resource management limit, with the trade-off that transfers may take longer.

Hi moxieman99,

I'm on a Pentium4 @ 1.4 GHz, 512 MB RD-RAM, 120 GB HDD
I don't think it's the hardware...

How do I alter the resource management?
