USB Audio - Trust SC5500p - Processes entering unkillable Zl+ state
I've just purchased a new USB Audio card (Trust SC-5500p 5.1) for my
ASUS laptop. Integrated laptop card works very well with alsa (i am using 2.6.22.8 kernel with all sound modules compiled). USB Audio is recognized when plugged, it creates a new device /dev/dsp2 and i can use it with setting output plugin to oss and device to /dev/dsp2 in sound applications. However i cant use alsa output with this card despite that its in alsa's "available device's list", for example esd -d hw:2 just tells that it's starting and suddenly exits without any errors. But that's not the biggest problem, main problem is that when using /dev/dsp2 oss output there's a big chance that application might enter freezed Zl+ state (which is unkillable) - i think that's when sound driver is busy but it shouldnt be so... A bug in driver ? Could be configuration - i dont use any specific alsa config, just ran alsaconfigure once to setup my internal laptop card... Any suggestions ?
