USB and NetMD (Minidisc)-- Does anyone now how?

Hi,

NetMD= Minidisc Player/recorder from sony

I know that sony does not support official uploading of songs onto NetMDs from linux-- since they do not have a driver for NetMD devices for linux at all. I am using Fedora Core 1.

But I am trying to get my NetMD model: MZ-NE410, to record my songs anyway. I have read around on the internet that some people have done this. They did it by attaching their USB or whatever to the computer, then setting the new device as a sound server (ie /dev/dsp1)-- I don't know how to do this! Do you have to but a mstab entry in or something so it mounts as /dev/dsp1?

Im any case, they then used a program like XMMS and set the output sound server to the NetMD (ie /dev/dsp1) and just played the song-- supposidley, this should Record the song in realtime.

Does anyone have any information on how to get this to work?

you can help me first by helping me figure out which device the attached USB NetMD is under. I know that USB did plugin properly because:

Code:
$ cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
T:  Bus=02 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#=  1 Spd=12  MxCh= 3

Look at

S: Manufacturer=Sony
S: Product=Net MD Walkman

now all I have to figure out is what device the NetMD is in and how to make it a sound server
