usb 3.0 pci express runs as slow as usb 2.0...

hi,
i've just bought this pci express card:
http://www.nilox.com/it/scheda/nilox/10NX0512U3001.htm

the card has been installed on asus p6t se mobo, using the PCIEX16_3 connector.

it is supposed to give usb 3.0 functionality with kernel >= 3.6 (i'm running ubuntu 14.04 64bit with kernel 3.13), but i can only get a read speed of about 35mb/s (just like usb 2.0), when the same external disk on another computer with built-in usb 3 plugs is read at ~ 100mb/s...

here is the lspci record:
Code:
01:00.0 USB controller: NEC Corporation uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 04)
any hint on how to debug this?
