USB 3.0 adapter card

I'm looking at adding a USB 3.0 adapter card to a couple of my desktop machines for the purpose of attaching a large (1.5-3.0TB) external drive for backups. Yes, USB 2.0 works but is really slooooooow... ;)

Anybody know of any brands/models that are sure to work, or on the flip side, have known issues and should be avoided?

For the sake of argument, the machine in question will likely have either Debian Wheezy or CentOS 6.3 on it.

TIA,

Monte

I am not sure how this compares to other options, however, I bought this card: HighPoint RocketU 1022A PCI-Express 2.0 and it was plug & play under Debian Squeeze.

Regards,
Stefan

Well, if it works out of the box with Squeeze, that would seem to indicate its pretty likely to work on most any 'newer' distros, right?

Thanks for the info!

Problem may also be motherboard and bios support so I doubt anyone can say some card will work.
