I tried on my laptop a pcmcia usb2 card, and works loading uhci and ehci.

I tried it with my VestaPRO webcam (usb1 tough) and works, but I don't have usb2 devices to test, sorry.

I just found out something interesting...was having major problems with my asus P4PE-X motherboard using usb devices....just like u, the ports were recognized but the devices were not recognized....after weeks of trying different drivers and trying to force ehci into the uhci ports i got together with my computer store people and found that the same problems were occuring on windows as well as linux....

it seems that the usb headers..(the recepticals that u plug ur usb cables into were the problem...it seems that the usb2 headers were not recognizing the usb1 devices...these devices (i.e., my HP desktop 812c, or my scanner HP 3300c were early usb devices....they have to be plugged into usb1 headers, not the new usb2 headers....

since i changed one set of headers...these devices are recognized and work perfectly...

i guess some usb1 devices are not downwardly compatible (or is it upwardly compatible).....

just food for thought...hope it helps
