urgent, please help me
I have installed linux ubuntu for the first time, and am trying to get my wifi internet to work, i bought a book, beginning ubuntu linux and followed all of the instructions, but cannot get my wifi card to configure/connect, it says active, but won't connect to dsl router....also, i put in the info for ethernet static ip, but it still will not connect!!!

first, please dont post your thread as 'urgent' because it is not. thank you.
second, what wireless NIC do you have? open up a terminal window and give us the the output of 'lsmod' and 'lspci'. note you may have to use sudo (ie 'sudo lspci') if it says 'permission denied'.
in the mean time, look up 'ndiswrapper'.

Do not mess with ndiswrapper until we know the model number of your card, and nadroj is right. It is not "urgent," not to me, anyway.
