Urgent
i HAVE GOT DUAL PROCESSOR BASED INTEL XEON DATABASE SERVER WITH 4 SCSI HARDISK , RAID CARD , WITH OS LINUX AND DB AS ORACLE. THE SERVER SOMTIMES MAKES BEEPING SOUND AND IT CONTINUES WITH 2-3 MINUTES IT WAS REPEATED THRICE BUT NOT ABLE TO TROUBLE SHOOT THE POSSIBLE CAUSE FOR IT.

first of all.. why the capsing, it doesn't help, and my opinion is that it's quite anoying. And it'd be great if you'd say what linux distro you are using. Now for my answer, i think you're server is overheated. Check in bios for cpu temperature, and check it for a few minutes.

Thanks for the valuable support. The server is kept with Air-Conditiner so there are no chances of over heating. The sounds seems to comes from screeching of hardsisk. As the beeping sound or screeching thtn after shutsown do not come.
