uninstalling MESA gentoo

I am new to gentoo and i want to uninstall the mesa drivers, which apparently are included in the kernel, so that i can use the ati-drivers instead.. they wont work unless the mesa drivers are uninstalled.. how do i do this? regards |
I quess you used genkernel,is that right.Next you get to install the kernal manually;

no, that is not right.. i compiled it manually... the output of lspci shows the right grafic card and i have installed the ati-driverse and configurede the xorg.conf as i should according to the ati-manual... the kernel is only set ati/radeon.. am i just blind?? how do i do it??

anyone who knows it? it is a kernel parameter which i have overlooked?

found the problem:-) had to deselect my radeon card under det DRI management in the kernel... strange but it solved the problem:-)
