"undefined mode number" When Connecting TV via Composite Cable

After connecting a TV to my box as a second monitor with a composite cable, I get the message "You passed an undefined mode number" when booting. If I press Enter I get to choose a new (low-res) mode from a menu. Before I connected my TV, however, I had a much higher reolution (1024x768 with 16bit, i.e. vga=0x317 in my GRUB kernel line). How can I get my old resolution back? BTW, the TV works flawless in X with Nvidia Twinview and 1024x768. I'm using openSUSE 10.

Thanks!
