Unable to start XFree86 server on new dual monitor system

Well, this is my first time posting here (although I've visited the forums alot), so I hope I do this right.

Ok, here's the deal: I just setup a second monitor on my system. Now, Linux cannot start the XFree86 server...

Specs:
Original card: onboard Intel 810
Added card: pci S3 ViRGE chipset (on Diamond Stealth 3D 2000)
Primary card (by bios): pci
Primary card (preferred): onboard

I know what you're wondering: why's the PCI primary when he wants onboard primary? Well, because that's how I could get the system to work right in Win2k...the comp starts on the S3 and moves to the 810 when Windows starts.

BUT...

Now Linux doesn't work, with that card primary!

Someone, please tell me there's a way to keep the PCI card primary, get linux to run on the onboard, AND have it run right!

And please tell me how to do it...

Lost in a sea of monitors,

Not so :newbie:, even if it says he is (not quite well-weathered, either)

Ok, a little more info...
System: Red Hat 9
Kernel: 2.4.?
(I don't remember all the specs, and can't get too them, but it's whatever version came with Sam's Learning Red Hat 9 in 24 hours...or something like that.)

Please, help...anyone, anything, please? I'm desparate...
