unable to print under Debian Sarge on Lexmark Z11

Installed cupsys, cupsys-client and cupsys-bsd correctly

Navigate to http://localhost:631/admin ok; enter as root and go to printers>manage printers>Print Test Page

As soon as I select Print Test Page or Configure Printer commands, all I get is

Code:
Error: client-error-not-possible
Is Lexmark Z11 supported by Debian GNU Linux in some way...??

supposedly it works "partially" under linux:
http://linuxprinting.org/show_printe...um=Lexmark-Z11

according to that site, lexmark consumer grade printers don't have the best track record working with linux. you should be able to get it mostly working at 600dpi, though. are you using the recommended LZ11 driver?

The printing port setting under http://localhost:631 cups interface was PARALLEL port, not lpd port. More fool me.

It worked fine.

Thanks for the help.

An important note

Remember you have to install the LZ11 foomatic-bin controller first of all:

Code:
apt-get install cupsys foomatic-bin
....and then gunzip and untar it all....Don't forget to change permissions to INSTALL just playing

Code:
chmod 755 INSTALL
...in order to make it executable by root.

Cheers...!!!
