unable to login f1 to f6 terminals


Hai all,
I installed fedora core4 on my system after installation is complete iam not getting the f1 to f6 terminals just Blank screen is coming ....

At the Installation time iam not installed Development tool.I want to know
it's also one of the cause r not.....

And my system configuration is..

IntelCeleron 2.4Ghz
Intel 845GVSR Mother Board
128MB Ram
40Gb Hdd..





Plz Reply me./....

I also had this same problem so I made the switch to Ubuntu as I had Gnome problems aswell

It would be interesting to find out what this bug is

Hi there,

well the problem u r/were facing is the same that i was facing.

so digging up up info from net reveals me that it is the bug in the fc4 which will be fixed soon.

so in order to get ur tty's just backup ur

/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libvgahw.a

and copy the libvgahw.a from a fc3 box or from some fc3 machine.

also u can get fc3 file from here :--
http://rapidshare.de/files/2399145/libvgahw.a.html

Just cp the file and reboots and voila ur problem is solved.

unable to get tty f1-f6 terminals

i tried what all has been given but still the problem persists.
when i press ctrl+alt+F1 or ctrl+alt+F2 i am getting screenshot of GUI,and not CUI terminal at any tty.
Please help me out
