Unable to install 64 bit packages for ASUS motherboard

Hi All,

I have driver DVD for ASUS motherboard. This DVD has drivers (motherboard and audio) for Linux, how do I install these packages.

When I tried installing these with package installer, it says cannot install the packge.

Kindly advice me.

Thanks in advance.
Best,
Veeranna Ronad.

What Distro are you using. My PC and my wifes both have Asus motherboard and don't require anything to be installed, they just work. They have Slackware 13 64bit on one and Linux Mint 64 bit on the other.Cheers.I just binned my Asus DVD as I didn,t need it.

These drivers are for Audio and LAN. But these files archives of source, which needs to be compiled and install.

So, what exactly doesn't work if you don't install these drivers?

And you also need to wonder whether the drivers on the disk are more or less up-to-date than those you have with your distro or would get from their repos.

Audio drivers are installed.
